Dr. Jörg Kukies

Jörg Kukies is a Managing Director and Country Head of Morgan Stanley in Germany and Austria. He joined the firm in May 2026 in London and relocated to Frankfurt in November 2026, when he assumed the role of Country Head.

Mr. Kukies brings extensive experience from leadership positions across both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as Germany’s Federal Minister of Finance, having previously held senior roles as State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance and at the Federal Chancellery, where he advised on European, financial and economic policy.
Prior to his career in public service, Mr. Kukies spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs, where he ultimately served as Co-CEO of Goldman Sachs AG, overseeing the firm’s business in Germany and Austria.
