Karsten Thiem

Karsten Thiem is Chief Operating Officer at HSBC Germany. He brings 22 years of international experience in banking, operational management, strategic transformation and people leadership. In his current role, he leads the technology, transformation and shared services functions, shaping the bank’s operating model through a period of significant change and growth while strengthening operational resilience and client service excellence.

Previous roles at HSBC include Managing Director of HSBC’s internal Service Company and Asia Head of Transformation, based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining HSBC, he worked as a management consultant in London and Hong Kong.
