Dr. Stefan Mai

Since May 1, 2015, Dr. Stefan Mai is Head of the Executive Board Office and
Head of Public Affairs at Union Asset Management Holding AG in Frankfurt.
Since 2024, Dr. Mai is the Vice President of the Chamber of Industry and
Commerce (IHK) Frankfurt am Main. Further, Dr. Mai is a member of the
Executive Board of the Deutsche Friedrich-Wilhelm-Raiffeisen-Gesellschaft since
2023.
Between 2002 and 2015, Dr. Mai worked for Deutsche Börse AG. In his role as
Head of Market Policy & European Public Affairs, he was responsible for the
company’s political and regulatory strategy.
Dr. Mai was a member of the Board of the Federation of European Securities
Exchanges (FESE) from 2005 to 2015, a member of the Supervisory Board of the
European Energy Exchange in Leipzig from 2007 to 2014 as well as member of
the EU Commission´s Clearing and Settlement Advisory and Monitoring Experts‘
Group (CESAME) from 2006 to 2009. Since 2007, he is a lecturer at the House
of Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt.
Dr. Mai studied economics at the University of Würzburg and received his
doctorate in 2002 from the University of Cologne.
