Prof. Dr. Christina E. Bannier

Christina E. Bannier is Professor of Banking and Finance at Justus Liebig University Giessen and Head of the Sustainable Governance Lab. She previously held professorships at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and Leibniz University Hannover, and was a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics & Political Science. She is a member of the supervisory boards of DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA, Eurex Clearing AG, and Clearstream Banking AG, where she also chairs the Risk Committee. From 2021 to 2026, she served on the executive board of the German Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management (DVFA), and since 2026 she has been co-head of the scientific advisory board of the Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation (FIRM). Her work and research focus on finance, governance, (climate) risk management, as well as data analytics and AI.
