Charith Mendis

Charith Mendis leads worldwide banking industry efforts for Amazon Web Services (AWS).

In this role, he works with leading banks to harness AI agents, alongside cloud, to reimagine how banking services are delivered and experienced by customers. Most recently, he has been helping banks modernize core functions such as customer onboarding and lending operations, build agentic relationship-management capabilities, and accelerate the shift from legacy mainframes to composable banking architectures.

Charith has over 20 years of experience developing solutions for financial services organizations across Asia, EMEA, and North America. He and his team regularly publish thought leadership aimed at helping the industry transform, such as Banking on the Cloud and AI/ML in Banking.

He has been a speaker at conferences including the International Institute of Finance’s Global Meeting, Dubai Fintech Summit, and Money 20/20, where he speaks on the future of agentic banking.
