JÖRG EIGENDORF

Chief Sustainability Officer, Deutsche Bank

Jörg is the Chief Sustainability Officer of Deutsche Bank. In this capacity, he is the Vice-Chair of the Sustainability Committee chaired by the CEO and Chairman of the Sustainability Strategy Steering Committee.

He joined Deutsche Bank in 2016 as Global Head of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, which included the responsibility for sustainability. Since then, he has been instrumental in shaping the bank’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. In September 2022 he handed over his function as Global Head of Communications to solely focus on ESG as first Chief Sustainability Officer in the history of the bank, reporting into the CEO.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Jörg was member of the Editorial Board and Chief Investigative Reporter of the media group WELT since 2010. Before, and held several senior positions as Economic and Financial Editor of the Welt group in Frankfurt and Berlin.

In the 1990s, Jörg reported from Moscow as a business correspondent for the German weekly DIE ZEIT for six years.

Jörg attended the Cologne School of Journalism and subsequently attained a Master of Economics at the University of Cologne.

He has received several renowned journalism awards and was elected “Business Journalist of the Year” in Germany in 2012.
