The transition to a climate-friendly and sustainable economy has become of central importance to the financial sector. The energy transition as well as the economic transformation processes go along with the needs of capital investment, thus the support of the financial industry is vital.
The fact that the financial center of Frankfurt plays a perceptible leading role in this transformation process both nationally and internationally is of central importance to the Hessian Minister of Economic Affairs Al-Wazir and his ministry. For the fourth time in a row, the Ministry of Economy, Transport, Energy and Regional Development (HMWVL) in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) invites to the "Green Finance Forum" within the framework of the EURO FINANCE WEEK (EFW) on November 15, 2018.
The industry faces central tasks which arise from political requirements at a national and European level. Different approaches to these challenges need to be internationally addressed. Discussions include the implementation of the EU's Financing Sustainable Growth Action Plan and its challenges and status with regard to the financial centers and institutions. Moreover, in the context of "best practice" examples, the great opportunities that lie within are presented and highlighted by means of innovative cooperation projects.
The share and responsibility of the financial sector in the transition to a sustainable economy will be broadly discussed within the Green Finance Forum during the EFW again this year.
The Green Finance Forum will be followed by the "Sustainable Investors Summit" in the early afternoon, which will take up the political-regulatory topics of the Green Finance Forum and deepen their practical relevance in expert panels and workshops. The Sustainable Investors Summit is a matchmaking platform for investors and asset managers, to which the participants of the Green Finance Forum have free access.
Participation: by invitation only.
