Katharine Braddick

Director General, Financial Services, HMT, London

Katharine Braddick has been the Director General for Financial Services at HM Treasury since 2016. Braddick joined the department on secondment from the Bank of England in 2014 where she was Director of Prudential Policy at the Prudential Regulatory Authority. She began her career as a civil servant in 1996 before going on to work for the Association of British Insurers, and then the Financial Services Authority, where she was Head of Prudential Banking Policy.

In her current role she is responsible for: ensuring the delivery of HM Treasury’s work programme; leading the Treasury’s relationships with the Prudential Regulatory Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority, and representing HM Treasury on the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee; as well as engaging with external stakeholders in the financial services industry.
